Welcome to Scott River Lodge

Congratulations on being selected for a position at the Scott River Lodge for the summer of 2017. Our student volunteers are invaluable contributors of the SRL team and together we cultivate an environment in which lives are transformed!

I want to thank you for choosing to spend your summer at SRL; your willingness to serve is so appreciated as SRL cannot exist without people like you, with hearts like yours. We are excited to have you, and know God is bringing together a wonderful community in which to experience service, growth, enjoyment, and the fullness of His love.

Please use this page as your resource for summer preparations. There are a number of items that require your attention and participation - please complete these in a timely manner (prior to April 1st, 2017).

We understand that several questions will arise over the next several months as you prepare for your summer in California. SRL leadership will soon invite you to a GroupMe group message to promote and support this pre-summer dialog. Please use this forum to ask any questions that you may have.

We are looking so forward to spending the summer with you!

All God's Best,

Melissa Christopher

Packing Instructions

SRL

The volunteer experience and accommodations at the Scott River Lodge are very different from those at the JH Ranch. Please notice this packing list is different from the JH Ranch list, and feel free to contact SRL leadership with any questions you may have.

SPACE

Because of the limited amount of space, we ask that you bring no more than three (3) pieces of luggage. We suggest bringing a suitcase, a duffel bag, and your backpack. SRL is able to provide bedding and bath towels, as well as other items such as laundry detergent.

CLOTHES

The weather at the Lodge is wonderful, but will require a little bit of everything. It is usually 70-90 degrees during the day with no humidity, but can go down into the 40's at night (usually colder in early June). Staff are either in their work uniform, or in casual clothes. There will be opportunities for dress clothes, when staff intersect with guests during special events or evenings.
